Question Fender '78 musicmaster q's

when i got into bass a few years ago my mom gave me her old musicmaster bass. i recently found it is a '78? i was wondering if anyone had any info on musicmasters? also if you know how much there sold for i was just curious. i will NEVER sell this bass, but it would be nice to know what i have. Thank you!!

I got one ('78) at a pawn shop a couple years ago for $400. It had a TON of good "vibe".

The stock electronics are somewhat muffled. You can brighten it up by changing the wiring. The pickup is a standard strat shape, so there's lots of possibilities for upgrading that. (Including one by Aero that is specific to the Musicmaster bass - it's killer.)

The bridge & tuners are pretty cheesy but I suppose they're usable. (I'd probably modify it with some quality tuning gears if it were to be my main player.)

Overall, a very cool bass. Definitely worth hanging on to IMHO.
