Jazz neck, handwound pupus, looks like the CS is showing us bass players some love! Not sure about the sparkly paint.....I guess it's one of those "you either love it or hate it" things.

Nice! I dig the finish, matching headstock, and inlays. Awesome bass, I'm sure its pretty damn expensive though

Greatest bands in the world? haha.

I dont think many people will line up to pay 6000$ for his bass , i have never been impressed with his work.

Dang, that looks fantastic. Sure, the price is way too high for me. But I like it approximately 1 million times more than his Warwick sig that I could never afford, either.

Let's not have yet another thread about his merits as a player. The jokes are beyond stale.

Going to see them on June 7. We will see. The Warwick thing is absolutely disgusting so I will be curious to see what he walks out with.

Why do you think he's a lame player ? Because he doesn't play complicated bass lines ?

He plays exactly what the song needs, and his playing is a huge part of making U2 sound the way they do. With all the effects that Edge uses, Adam and Larry's job is to hold down the bottom end and glue it all together... and it works.

I'm not a huge U2 fan or anything, but to say someone is "lame" because he plays "exactly what is needed" is immature and honestly, pretty ignorant.

If the song NEEDS 3 notes, you shouldn't play 4. Music isn't about showing off - it's about "expression". Just like all paintings don't need to be "complex" to connect with people, all musicians don't need to play "complex parts" to connect.

I love the gold sparkle finish though. I thought he played Lakland Joe Osbornes though?

He did--well, usually DJs rather than JOs--till a a year or two ago when he went with Warwick.

The stadiums are NOT packed because of the bass player (in this band). If he wasn't there, ticket sales would be the same.

But if he floats your Bassplayer-Boat, so be it.

Amen brother, well said. There's something to be said for playing exactly what the song needs pretty much every time they write one.
