Just thought I'd share. Apologies if this is old news, but it's the first time I'm seeing this. It seems only available in Japan though.

I don't understand why this is called an Aerodyne and not just a Jazz. I thought Aerodynes were always a PJ config.

Not at all, Aerodyne refers to the body shape.

That's a good point. Since this is the first time any of us heard of a 5-string Aerodyne, I have to assume that none of us played it. Do we have TB members from Japan that can go to a store & test it for us?

The Aerodynes look fairly typical head on, but have a sleek, tapered shape when viewed from the side, correct?

I live in Japan and am always scouting for basses. I've NEVER seen an Aerodyne 5 string. I'll keep my eyes out though.

Gale

***** Well, I've just found four of them, all jazz basses, all black! About $1200 here in Japan.

..........Also, ALDER body. Many of the Aerodyne models use basswood.

Are you saying he might be able to get them to make an Aerodyne Precision 5 (all passive, please)? I might have to get in the line that seems to be forming here....
