Fender am. jazz std 2012 vs Lakland 44-60

Hi,

I am thinking to buy a new 4 string bass. I already own a musicman stingray so I would prefer a bass with a passive, warm and "vintage" sound.
The ideal bass I think would be a jazz 62 RI but it is expensive for me.
TWo basses I think are suitable for me are:
1. 2012 Fender jazz Am. standard (60's pickups)
2. Lakland skyline 44-60

Has anyone experience with both of them?
Which one would you choose?

Very hard to choose between what are essentially two basses that feel, look, and sound very similar.

If you can't try them first, get the best deal of the two.

Now, present version with '60s single coils, I still don't like its neckheeljoint but hey Lakland Skyline 4460 is even "more Fender than Fender itself".

I think the Lakland neck is a little thinner front to back than the Fender.
The Lakland might be a little heavier. The Fender will probably have better resale value.
Everyone knows about Fender, while Lakland takes some explaining.
Personally, I have both but probably play the Lakland more often.

I have owned both and I prefer the lakland. The neck profile, smaller frets and great sound make it a winner to me. Fender made in USA vs Lakland made overseas mean nothing, in fact, IMHO Lakland feels better quality and their customer service is top notch, the only thing where Fender wins is that it comes with a nice hardcase. Both great basses.
