| | | | Fender American Standard Jazz 2012 Alright guys, happy Christmas!
I sold my 1999 American standard p-bass on Sunday and I am about to order an American standard jazz 2012 model online.
I'm torn between the Olympic white and sunburst ones. I've never seen a white one in the flesh, do they get marked easily etc.
I'm familiar with the sunburst as my p-bass was this finish.
Which looks better in your opinion? I can't decide!!! |

Which looks better in your opinion? I can't decide!!! | I like the Sunburst with black pickguard look. But in saying that, olympic white with black guard looks just as amazing. But if you're staying stock, I'd go for sunburst.

| | | | Yeah both have rosewood necks and tortoise shell pickguards.
I thought the white might look cool as I've never really seen anyone over here with one. I was just a bit concerned it might get covered in black marks pretty easily. |

White does look gorgeous with almost any color pickguard too, in case you might want to change it occasionally. Sunburst only really looks good with black or tort.

You make a good point, though. |

No, white doesn't get marked easily, but sunburst has an advantage....if it gets dinged on the black edge, it is easier to fill (with fingernail polish) and polish out the ding. Been there, done that!

Here is my 2010 American Standard Jazz. I love this guitar and she plays like a dream.
But I have always loved sunburst/tort/rosewood Fender basses.
Whichever you choose, I am sure you will be happy with it!
