... my favorite white Fender finish, was the White Blonde that they used on the Hwy Series in '07 .. almost a kind of semi-transparent color, and little less stark white than the Oly White, especially when new ... otherwise its always been 3TSB/RW/Tort for me... I have several 3TSB, and only the one White Blonde ...

I'm familiar with the sunburst as my p-bass was this finish.
Which looks better in your opinion? I can't decide!!!
I have the white one & I hate white. It is more of a cream color. Very retro looking. It is definitely NOT white. Do it man.

Dude the GC and MF website show an amber colored one with a black pick guard. I would guess it's new. It looks SWEET. You should check that out.

That's a sweet bass but it's not available for a couple of months. I'd need counselling if I had no bass for that length of time!

It's win / win either way. The classics never go out of style. 3TB, tort, rw.

Ordered the Olympic White with rosewood. Should be here Monday or Tuesday. I'll put a pic up of her when she arrives!

I've got an '11 Olympic White with rosewood board, beautiful bass and finish! Haven't had any problems with marks on the bass and I've used it for about 25 shows now. Both finishes are great, and I had to make the exact same decision as you last year, white won, however it was a tough choice. Here it is brand new:

FYI -the amber one at GC and MF referenced by Pica are 2012's, but they do not have the Custom Shop 60's pickups that are on the 2012 American Standard series. I found this out as I dug them as well (especially as they are ash bodied). Just thought you might like to know. Let us know what you end up getting.

I bought a 2012 AM STD 4 string Jazz bass about three weeks ago. Black body, white pickguard and a maple fretboard. It's the finest playing 4 string bass I've ever found.

Congrat's on your purchase!

While I don't like the Candy Cola with Rosewood on the Precisions, it looks awesome on the Jazz's. Thinking of grabbing a Candy Cola P with maple soon.

I just picked up a ADJV a month ago... and I wrestled with exactly the same two colors... I don't remember why I chose the sunburst - but it's a great bass... either way you'll be happy!

My vote for you....

If you had Black and Maple in there, that's what I'd go for....

Holding out for Jazz V in that combination...

Great instruments though curious why you jettesoned the P?

Picked up a P5 in that from the TB Classified this summer. There's another one on there for trade now if your interested in a 5 banger... They're getting A LOT of love here lately...

Yeah after I tried a P5 recently I was kind of torn because it felt great, but I use 4's primarily and have a decent 5 now. Down the road, I'll probably own one though. They are exactly as Ed Freidland described: A Precision with a low B. Pretty awesome.

I have a p5 and they sound great!

anyway back to the question. I'm a rosewood fingerboard and tort pickguard fan and if the bass has those either color would look awesome. I have a MIM j5 with the vintage white (kind of a mock aged oly white) and I have to say it looks pretty damn good under the stage lights!
