Aren't there enough of these threads on TB that we all know by now that there is no such thing as "better"? There are only preferences, which are highly subjective and personal. Listen to lots of examples of both basses, then play them both and form your own opinion as which one you PREFER (not which one is better).

They both have that mid-heavy growl that I like. I play Stingrays (or used to since I haven't owned one in a few years) when I want more bite and cut than I can get from one of my passive P-basses.
