These are two VERY different basses, I don't think there is a decisive way to say which is better except for personal preference

This is an interesting variation on the old P vs. J debate.

I hate both of them, but Fender annoys me more so I guess I'd pick the EBMM.

Pretty different animals. Get both, start with the one you like best.

Each has their own unique voice. Both are awesome.

I have a slight preference for the Precision.

sometimes the Precision is better, other times the Stingray is better.

Aren't there enough of these threads on TB that we all know by now that there is no such thing as "better"? There are only preferences, which are highly subjective and personal. Listen to lots of examples of both basses, then play them both and form your own opinion as which one you PREFER (not which one is better).

My favorite is the P. Like the neck feel more. More flexible sound to my tastes.

Apples and oranges. The only things that are really similar are the neck width and that the standard models have one p/up. Both are brilliant which is why I have both in my arsenal.

Both are the top of the heap for the type of tones I prefer. Both are totally different too (as mentioned).

Either way you get what was originally a Leo Fender design.

+1. They both have that mid-heavy growl that I like. I play Stingrays (or used to since I haven't owned one in a few years) when I want more bite and cut than I can get from one of my passive P-basses.

It's a toss up. Each bass is good in its own way, but these days, it seems like Ernie Ball has more consistant quality control.

I cant say I like fender basses that much. I love Musicman basses, sterling and ray.

This is my personal opinion
