Fender American Standard P5 & J5 necks

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,
I went over the new P5 and J5 necks specs sheets on the Fender site - what do you know, they're exactly the same!
To be clear, I'm talking about the new USA passive Precision V and Jazz V models (starting 2008).
Any idea if they are using the same neck on P and J 5 basses?!

Maybe it's because I haven't been awake for too long, but I'm not understanding what you're asking.

Are you looking to confirm what you read on the Fender site? The necks are the same on the American Standard 5-string Ps and Js.

Yes, I was confirming what I read is indeed true, since there is a major difference in the necks with the 4 strings models, as you surely know.
Thanks for confirming.

And they are great. I thought the neck was the most impressive feature on the '08 ASJV I owned.

Funny, I was playing my J5 and P5 last night, and was noting to myself how the necks felt different. Maybe I got some outliers.....

When these came out, I e-mailed Fender, and a rep confirmed they are the same necks. I had only played the P5, and loved the neck, but I wanted a J5 and wanted to make sure it would have the same feel. It does.

I have both the ASP5 and ASJ5 and the necks are the same. And quite nice too...
