Hello Bass Buds -
I have an amazing opportunity to purchase a Fender American Fretless P-Bass. It has all the features of the Tony Franklin (J/P pups with the switch, drop d tuner, ebony board, etc.) but it claims to be Made in America. I thought they were only Made in Mexico? The serial number starts with an S making it a signature model. I am going to see it tomorrow before I buy it, but is this really American? The neck plate says Corona California, the headstock says Made in USA and it's a SZ s/n. Can anyone comment on this before I sink some hard earned dough into this bass.
(Before you say "if you love it, it doesn't matter if its MIA or MIM," I know that. But I want to know what I am getting and, if I ever resold it, I would need to know.) |
