I've played the Am. St. and they're nice, but I just don't like them nearly as much as the AVRIs. Both my main basses are AVRIs (62 P & J). I way prefer the smaller vintage frets, the 7,25" radius, the reverse tuners (it always takes me a minute to adjust to normal tuners now, I'm so used to the reverse ones), and the neck profiles (thin depth) of the AV series. Comparatively, and especially on the Precisions, the necks seem way too deep. I also really dislike the 9,5" radius, can't really explain it, I'm just not a fan. I also prefer the pickups that come stock in the AVRIs (although apparently the Standards have CS pups now). And, as always, the nitro is a nice plus.
