Fender announces a Phil Lynott Signature bass...

Okay...not really...but I've decided to create my own version. I know it's been done a few times, but I also added the Roto flats he sometimes used, a custom neck plate, and had a custom waterslide decal made. The decal is part of a cartoon-Christmas card their artist (Jim Fitzpatrick) created of Phil and his family many years ago. I also happen to have the cartoon image tattooed on my shoulder.

Thanks for looking.

There is a guy on ebay that sells some custom (laser engraved/etched) neck plates. I'm sure he'd make one for you if it's a popular artist, and he thinks he could sell a few of them.

Fender should do that to a MIA P Bass and charge $3500 for it

Greetings from the North,

That is way cool and a job well done too! I think that neck plate would be great for an inspirational smile before going on. Thanks RaginRog!

I know this dude! He sang the role of the Parson on Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of the Worlds! Is he famous for something else, too?

It's looking good Rog. Will you ever be without a PL-tribute bass?

I can't see the op's pic, but I bought this last spring for a very nice price - $700) '76 body and +/- '75 neck that started life as a fretless (dots are at the frets), orig 70's mighty mite chromed metal pg - it now has a brass nut and bad ass II bridge (It had a no name vintage bridge).

best I've ever had.

Thanks Jens.

Nah, not sure I can go too long without one. This is number 3...had a MIM in the past, as well as a Black with Maple fretboard, but only owning 2 basses at the time, I needed a 5 string for the band I was in at the time.

Thanks everyone.

I've always been such a fan, and one of these days (when I'm not in a band), I'm going to take the time to learn a good portion of their songs. I never have the time to invest, outside of having learned Dancing in the moonlight, Jailbreak, and Boys are Back in town.
