Fender Big Block Precision Bass

Anyone ever play one of these? If you have, how was it? I saw a local add for one for $400. I also saw a Jazz Bass For that price. Would this be worth the $400, or just keep my MiM P-Bass?

A Big Block P for $400? that would be worth it, in my opinion. The electronics were the weak link in these basses. Replace them and I think you have a pretty nice player with a cool look!

Do you think a Music Man style Humbucker pickup could be used?

Others may disagree, & it may've been just the one I tried, but I was thoroughly unimpressed with the Big Block P I tried once.
Didn't really seem that the HB was "made" for it
I love P basses, love MM basses, but, no, for me.
My 2c

I don't see why not. Just measure the pick up and be sure to pick one that fits. I'd replace the preamp, as well. that's the thing I found weak.

But wasn't the construction good? I thought the platform was pretty good. The electronics, however, stunk it up.
