Fender Blacktop Jazz Bass guitar... worth buying?

Sign in to disble this ad
right now i have a fender squire jazz bass and it is falling apart. i have been playing for 2 and a half years and i think i need a new bass. i did some research on jazz basses and i came across the fender blacktop jazz bass. has anybody bought it or tried it out? i want a bass that could work for my high school jazz band and one that could be used for my one pleasure. the two precision pickups seem pretty cool. to me it sounds like this bass is almost a combined jazz bass and precision bass. my main question is has anybody bought it and is it worth buying?

I dont think it would be great for jazz. It has more of an aggressive rock tone. If you want a bass in a similar price range, I'd go for a MIM standard jazz bass.

Should be just fine for jazz, just favor the neck pickup. I really want to see Ed Friedland review the Blacktop series, his reviews are awesome.
