Fender Blacktop P

Hey everyone, ive been looking at the blacktop P's for a while, really interested in it, and I have a few questions about them.

1. What are your thoughts on (if you've played or heard one) the blacktop P's?
2. Are there any companies that make blacktop P replacement pgs? I want a tort pickguard to go on a black blacktop...
3. Will a jazz neck fit in one without too much difficulty?

2 - Probably not, since the models were just released. There are plenty of companies out there that will make a custom pickguard for you, based on a tracing of your original piece, though.

Fender is coming out with a new blacktop jazz that has the same pup as the precision . Just learned that from the southeastern Fender rep. So if you can wait a couple of months you can basically have the p with a jazz neck. He says all the electronics are the same. Just the body and neck are different. I wouldn't expect that would change the tone greatly. According to him the p is their hottest seller right now. I played the p and it sounded great. Plays well also.
