| | | | Nice but how many more times is Fender going to reinvent the same thing with slightly different options.
At least most other companies have more tan two or three main body styles |

| | | | Rout out the body for a P style, get a regular pickguard and you just gave yourself one of the older deluxe P's... I'm considering this.

Am I the only one who thinks the Blacktop Precision looks pretty cool? I agree that it doesn't really make sense calling it a Precision, but I'd like to give one a whirl- it seems interesting and I like the idea of two humbuckers with passive wiring.
This makes it suck even more being a broke teenager!

At least most other companies have more tan two or three main body styles | Probably for as long as they sell a bajillion each year, and for as long as each new design they bring out doesn't sell. See Aerodyne, Coronado, Prodigy, Bass V, Bass VI, Performer, Jaguar, and others.

I was hoping for a Blacktop Jazz with humbuckers, but the decision to use split coil pickups not only voids my interest in the instrument but also is rather unappealing to the eye, IMO. I would've killed for a red "Jazz" with humbuckers and a maple fretboard.

I would guess that because they are two split coils there would not be the normal Jazz Bass hum when turning one up or down?

| | | | If the P was coil tapped (coil split, whatever you want to call it) that would be great. Sadly I just really don't like the look of the P. The J, on the other hand, I think that it is just sexy. And I've always wondered how a bridge P pickup sounds |
