Nor do I. If it were 800 bucks, I'd probably say something like, "I'd like to try one of those."

I bet it's not 800 bucks, though.

That's because NOTHING from the Fender Custom Shop costs 800 bucks.

I for one love it. Wish I had the cash it will definitely require.

Most likely this will be "a Precision on steroids". If one comes my way I'll look at it...

Very cool looking bass.
This is the Fender CS.
They will do a run of about 100.
And put a $6000.00 price tag on this.
They could price it for say $2200.00 and sell 10.000.00 but Fender is not that smart?

I love the spanish names for these CS guitars and basses...

Borracha - rubber.
Porrazo - thump.
Cabronita - ...look it up.

Looking through the Facebook photos they've put up, I'm fairly certain that,

A. Everyone working at the Fender Custom Shop is insane, or at least quite eccentric, and
B. Working there would be tons of fun. I'd fit in fine... except for the lack of building skills.

And Bono's new tele is absolutely stunning.

Its like everything else from the Fender CS. You could make a Warmoth version for maybe a fifth of their asking price.

Yeah, I'm guessing somewhere in the $4,000 - $6,000 USD range. I'm not familiar with the TV Jones ThunderTron pup, anyone know anything about it?

It looks to me like the Fender CS has their creative mojo flowing. I like it that they are taking risks, not sure I like this creation. Of course, depending on how it played and sounded, that could change for the better or worse.

I wonder what else is in the works?

I like it, cool looking with very minimalist approach. That pick-up is mysterious, anybody got the low down on what its about? Too bad It'll cost more than what My finances can handle.....

Did a quick search on TV Jones ThunderTron pups and found this old TB link, not much info: Anyone Know About TV Jones Thunder'Tron PUPs?

It appears that these pups are used in Gretsch basses and are manufactured in the UK. Looks like a cross-over project between Fender and Gretsch.

No they won't. It says in the OP's pic that they're making 30 of them.

As far as I know, TV Jones makes all of his pickups right here in the U.S. They are all made-to-order, and are generally held in high regard. They are not the project of either Fender or Grestch, but the pickups are standard issue in the better Gretsch instruments, and he does make pickups for other instrument manufacturers too.
