Fender Custom Shop 2013: 1951 Relic P Bass

Couldn't find a post about this yet, but this looks pretty nice. I especially am interested to see the colors. Aged Lake Placid is the only one available now, but the other 2 colors are Melon Candy and Candy Tangerine.

It looks pretty nice, but they're gonna try and charge $6k for it or something ridiculous. At that price, I'd just grab a refin'd REAL 50's P. I've seen quite a few real early-mid 50's refinished P basses on Ebay not getting any action around the $5k mark.

That reminds me to ask:

What colors did the original pre-split Precision bass came in, anyway?

And two-tone sunburst (from 1953 I think).

Yeah when the price gets over $4,000 and certainly over $5,000 the reissues end up competing with the real deals.
