Hi folks,
Friend of mine does some work at a local music shop, has one of these for sale for many years, hasn't shifted due to price (originally around 3.5k euros).
Looks like this: http://www.drumza.com/images/FenderC...cisionBass.jpg
Anyway he's been on to me to take it out for rehearsal (we're in a band together). We did so, found the tone absolutely beautiful, action and general feel of the instrument very pleasing indeed.
He's talked the shop into selling it to me for 2K euro.
Now, I only bought a 2008 american standard precision during the summer.
Supposing I could shift the 2008 pbass and maybe an old Matsumoko Aria SB which has just been gathering dust...
Would you do it?

| | | | Hi foks,
Pulled the trigger, despite as yet being unable to sell other instruments (economy here is f*cked).
Sounds, looks, and feels beautiful from tip to toe.
I'll stick up a couple of pics one of these days..
But meanwhile - I notice for a start the E is a bit buzzy...was hanging in the shop for almost 4 years and have it tuned flat so it'll need a setup..but anyway...the real question:
Did the smaller fret wires on this type of bass make it a bit trickier to finger properly? I'm suddenly feeling a bit sloppy in the upper registers. Also in general I think the neck on this baby is going to require a slightly better left hand: the Geddy Lee jazz I've been playing a few years will feel more like a toy than ever!
Any opinions on this fret wire business?
Also: for anyone who got this far with the post and cares to give an opinion...side by side with my MIA P it is:
- lighter
- quieter
- nastier, more organic, more beautiful, tonewise.
Guitarist buddy tells me there are less windings on the pickups, thus the difference. Is he right?

Glad you dig the bass! Any pics!?

The neck had this solid ring to it that reminded me of real vintage Fenders, something I hadn't experienced with every CS instrument I've tried.
I even liked the relicing, it was very realistic. |

Would you do it? | I think they go for about 2600 euros new, at this place([url]http://www.musicstore.de)-gotta use the search window on the site to find them, as the direct link I tried to post won't work properly.
So 2000 seems too much given it's been sitting there fr so long and been used.
That is, if I am not mistaken on the basses you'll see in the linked site.
I am sure you could get a new one there for sub 2k euros.

| | | | Hi, yeah, I know I could possibly get a better price...stuff is very expensive in Ireland however so locally at least, it was a good deal...there is also an element of trying to spend money in local businesses...it is the last good music shop left in this city, without it and no doubt soon enough, everything will have to come from the internet...

And don't forget the customs that he would have to pay when he'd order the Bass here.
@schmig : Take it ! Just handle a bit more and then take it
