For basses that sound similar to Fender, I recommend Lakland or Xotic.

| | | | I have a '90 CS Relic in Olympic White and it's a wonderfull instrument - I have some lovely basses (couple of Sadowsky's and a Suhr) and the CS Fender is right up there... different flavour of good!
Do it!

| | | | I'd keep the $ and get something cheaper. At the least wait a month. If it is still on your mind then go for it! |

The STARTING price for a custom shop Jazz is $4,600. For that money you can get a sadowsky, Low End Jazz, Nordstrand, Suhr, Lakland and pretty much anything else. Before you drop that kind of cash, definately check out your options.

PLEASE VOTE!!! | I recently acquired a brand new (NOS) CS Jazz in bing cherry translucent with maple fretboard. I absolutely love it! It seems to be much higher quality than the US deluxe jazz I owned about 10 years ago. The CS came with the stock noiseless (humbuck) pickups, and I swapped them out with Lollars. Those Lollars are worth every penny! Fantastic tone! The build quality of the CS is, IMO, just as nice as my US Lakland Glaub. Both play like buttah!

I paid $2175, but then I paid $180 for the Lollar single coils, and I also paid over $300 to upgrade the preamp to a John East J-Retro Deluxe.
IMO, the Sweetwater price is a bit high, but if they have the bass you want, then do it. Life is short!

I saw lots of NOS models listed for 2200, which is pretty darn good. |

If you must have a Jazz copy, look at Sadowsky, Mike Lull, and Lakland. |
