So, because even U S built Fenders are hit-or-miss, I'd like to find a place with a really good stock from which to find a gem, but find one in with an aesthetic that works for me.
I don't recall Make N Music having much Fender stock and from what I've seen, Chicago Music Exchange is all vintage Fender. What am I missing? I seem to recall a Fender shop around Evanston, but don't recall exactly where and what it was called. Any ideas for where to go?

If I knew for certain, I'd just order one thru Bass Central, like I did with my EBMMs. But whenever I run into Fender at a shop, most are set up poorly. I suppose I can give GC & SA another try.
