Question Fender early 70 Pickup Question

Sign in to disble this ad
I have looked for Original early-70's Fender Jazz Pickup.
and, found one but it's little different from what I have seen.

One thing was stamp on it. It's reddish one, not the dark grey.
Also if you know any site bout date-id information of pickup stamp, please let me know.

Another's.... I don't know even know what's called it..... the Hole in the mid of pickup plate. Looks like spinning the plate at winding wire. It's filled. Usually it's just hole.

Took one shot by cell.

The stamping digits are done two ways in the 70's.

The early years up through about 73 still had 4 digit stamp numbers: the middle two digits were the week, and the last digit was the year.

From about late 73 through 84 the stampd were six digit:
again the middle two digits were the week, and the last two digits were the year.

Your picture is really small and won't supersize, but it looks like your last two digits say 75 or 78? And yes the center hole is for the winding machine. All Fender pickups have it and usually it's filled with wax.

I just bought it with some kinda verbal guarantee from seller, who took it off from his '73 Fender Jazz original.

And, it say 73 at last 2 digits.

Thanks, Specialist.
