Pull the neck off and you'll see the little round plate for the tilt neck option. ..... Could have come with the boat anchor late 70's heavy Ash body and the guy swapped it out for something lighter. ..... If the body is Fender it'll have some (name) stamp in the neck cavity.
This neck is long after 'neck stamp', that ended in the early 70's when they started putting serial numbers on the neck decal. ..... S8 mean 78. ...... Not sure when they changed back away from the bullet tuss rod adjustment. .......
The Marcus Miller Jazz is a 75 and it has the bullet where the Geddy Jazz is a 73/74 and it has the truss rod at the heal.
to my knowledge they never reissued late 70's jazz basses.

All had white covers and knobs. All were heavy as boat anchors.
