Fender Experts? What is this fender custom colour?

I know its not a bass, but you guys seem to be Fender experts. Do you think you could tell me what colour this is called? I tried at the Fender forum, they told me it was LPB, but i know it isn't.

Hard to tell from the pic, but the little bit of color I can see looks like it could be LPB.

Who is it? Any other pics on the web with that guitar?

LPB changes color in different lighting and aged LPB looks just like that.

LPB done back in the day was alot darker than any of the current LPB on reissues etc.

But enough of that...we need to see that single coil Precision in the background.

Its Colin James, a Canadian blues artist.

That pic was the closest to the real colour, I seen the same guitar in person. I never thought about how that colour would age. Maybe its an older one. I'll also look for the P bass for you guys....

here's the same guitar, but it looks green here.

From that pic it looks like Sherwood Green Metallic.

Yellowing (aging) clear coats will do that.

If it's old...It's probably LPB with yellowed clear coat...making it look greener.

If it's new, or RI it's Ocean Turquoise.

I prefer to think if it as being Ocean Turquoise...I love that color.

I know the guitar is at least from the 80's, i'm thinking its some sort of reissue. MIJ maybe?

LPB can age to that color from UV exposure or it could be Ocean Turquoise.

personally, i think it's LPB, where the clear top coats have yellowed due to UV exposure and aging, making it ALOT more green in color. i've worked on alot of them that were that way and under the pickguard they were still blue.
