With all these new bass companies with revolutionary technology and building going into their basses in your opinion is your avarage Fender bass still the best bass because they have managed to stand the test of time?
Im my opinion yes, I love my Fenders, my Ibanez was great but it was just more of a toy.
Give me some opinions people!

One CANNOT start a Fender love thread without the usual suspects chiming in on how much better thier "boutique" is, or how much like sheep you are for playing a Fender. |

They certainly aren't the best (though "best" is a relative term).
However, Leo's designs are pure genius; and the instruments are certainly standards because they strike a popular balance of cost, sound, dependability, and "ageability." IMO.
They certainly are my favs as player tools. |

That doesn't mean I don't like other brands as well. I do. I also have a Sadowsky and a Stingray. But there's something about a nice Fender that just feels "at home" and comfortable to me. YMMV.

So, for me it depends. Do you mean Fender the company or (Leo) Fender, the genius?

| | | | Just like the early mustang... it's not necessarily the best, but it was the most accessible, cost effective, and still had the performance to hang with the rest. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
