Instead of going the ole' club-route, I'll ask you to simply post a pic of yours.
This is mine. I haven't got a better picture, as the instrument resides in our rehearsal space. Neck-serial number puts it somewhere 78 and 81. Afaik the only part that is not original is the pickguard (Previous owner stated that it originally was a black one. Possible?). The pickup covers are white.
After trying it with round-, flat- and compression-wounds, I ended up using Thomastik JF344s, because I love the feel and the boom. |

All of you guys have beautiful P basses. |

I'm thinking of putting a tort-pickguard on mine, depsite it being a lighter sunburst. The white is just...too white. |

I do like what I've heard about the Wal basses, but out of my reach at the moment.
I also watched several lessons on Youtube about getting "Whah" bloom from any bass, with technique and set-up (flat neck). But do Set Necks and Through-Necks do the "Whah" better than say a bolt-on Precision?

Whenever I dream of a fretless P bass, I tend to think of this tone: Mutemath - Fretless P
Sounds like he's got just a touch of overdrive going on, but still. Very nice.
