Each and every bass has its own unique voice and no 2 basses sound the same...even if they look identical. Each would have to be played before this question could be answered. |

Plastic wiring insulation, slightly goopy finish, pots with plastic shafts. They do sound good, and are mostly lightweight, but I would probably swap my 1982 AVS fo a Custom Shop model.

It's simply the perfect Precision bass for me.
But the original question is very much one that can only be answered by comparing specific individual instruments. It comes down to how does THIS chunk of wood and metal sound and feel in MY hands when I play it. There simply ain't gonna be "another one JUST like it".

Both are nice basses.
But there is a reason the early Fullerton basses are going up in price.
They are that good.
I would not trade my 1982, 62-P-bass for a CS bass.
Maybe a CS "Pino" P-bass |

My Fullerton has naturally aged and reliced on it's own, looks every bit the 'real deal' because it is real. I've got absolutely nothing against CS Relic remakes, but I would not pick a faux relic over a real relic if I had to choose, seeings both will run within a few hundred dollars of each other. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
