Fender Jaguar bass in 5 strings? Does anyone know why Fender doesn't make the Jaguar bass in a 5 string configuration? I used to have a red one. Absolutely loved it, and I'm not a Fender guy at all. But I ultimately sold it because I just couldn't get used to playing four strings anymore. Is it something that can be done through the Fender Custom Shop? But if Fender made at least a 5-string version, I would be all over it like a Filipino single mom on a U.S. Marine. ;) |
No real market for them. Fender doesn't sell many 5 strings, at all. Hell, already have 9, 5 string basses in their production list. This includes the Squiers, Artist models, MIMs & MIAs. That's quite a few models, and are you even going to be able to do anything with a 5 string Jag that you can't with an Active Jazz? |
Heck, They don't even give you any color choices in the ones they do sell. Fender is a 4 string company. The Jag is their slowest moving bass as it is. They do not even make a USA one. |

This is the analogy I was trying to make regarding jumping at the idea of having a five string Fender Jaguar. |
