Not too bad. Some trial and error. The only pain is if the wood splinters or chips you have to start over. Frustrating. Epoxy, veneer, exacto blade, sandpaper, wood file, shellac, polish. The materials add up but if you do other projects you have the gear.
Or you could just buy mine.

'Just got my new cheese grater heavy knurled chrome knobs put on "Pearl". They look much better.

MAN! This bass plays AWESOME!

I highly recommend the SD Antiquity IIs, as well as the Warmoth necks! These stainless 6150 frets KICK ASS!

Killer bass. Love the color combo. Pearl PG, plate, and neck inlays plus the grater knobs are a really nice touch. My first project bass was a P bass in candy apple red with maple neck. White DiMarzios. Even got GHS Boomers to have red thread on the string ends. Loved that color combo ever since, but all that pearl is knocking me out.

Thanks! I love my "Pearl" (named after the laser-etched vintage pinup on the neck plate (the forum police will not let me post a photo of her)).

Did you notice the pearloid neck binding?

I have some good shots of that earlier in this thread.

Yes, I saw it. If she plays as good as she looks, it's gotta be special. You have to feel great just playing it.

Upgrade complete

I finally got my B&B neck, "F" neck plate, and thumb rest installed; I think I'm done with this baby for a while. Now to actually have some fun with her!
