Weird, the headstock says Jazz Bass but the body is definitely a Precision.

Anyone know the real reason for them being there?

It's a pain in the butt: I flatten veneer which takes about a week, then sand down a pickguard for traction. I trace the pg on to the veneer leaving a little margin, & cut it, glue the veneer on to the pg with boat epoxy (strong & dries hard) then shape it with a file. Then sand it for a while. Then clear coat it several times, sand w/ wet-dry paper & coat again. On some I used rubbing compound & buffed out.
I can do it for you. The best thing to do is send me an existing pg that fits on your bass or guitar, then I pimp it out for you. |

PS - I realise it's a loose connection but are Squier jazz basses allowed too?
