Then adding Hipshot drop D tuners, as I play lots of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rage Against The Machine and need to easily drop down to D.
Maybe a new black or chrome pickguard.
DiMarzio clip lock strap.
Finally some EMG JHZ passive pickups, as I think they will be nicer and more natural than active ones.
Any thoughts or ideas towards it?
Absolutely no need to go active, 'cause you'll need extra routing (so payed workhours for a tech to do that for ya) accomodatin' not only extra holes, but room for batteries
EMGhz are great for a more brilliant and defined sound, even if with no substantial output increase (you maybe wouldn't want
'cause MIM Fenders are good enough about that)
A Hipshot bass extender, which, on MIM Standards is a BT7, is a direct replacement, so a revolvin' process in case you're goin' top resell your bass, and don't worry: (bass extenders) they are conceived to keep string tension almost consistent between E and D. Finally: no hard times gettin' used to a sole tone switched position....
I always do that. It's easy
