Fender neck on Dame bass, advice?

Hey guys, really hoping i could get some advice from some with a bit of knowledge.

A few years ago while in Korea, a picked a up a Dame Bass. Even though I own much more expensive guitars, I love the way this guitar looks and the beefy tone it produces. However I have never been really happy with the neck so I'm thinking about replacing the neck with a Japanese Fender Aerodyne neck (I want something with a black headstock).

I cant find my exact modal on the Dame site, maybe they have discontinued it but this is pretty close, except mine has an extra tone/volume control and active/passive control-

Does anyone out there know if this would work ok? Would there be any major problems with dimensions etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The neck pocket will probably have to be modified, and holes redrilled for the neck screws...

Do you know a good tech? Honestly, it's probably not worth the dough, but hey, its your bass...I think it could be a relatively pricey modification, but anything can be done with enough money.

Cheers Spinal Tapper. I have a good guy who does all my work for pretty cheap. I know it probably isn't worth the cash but kinda of have my heart set on it as I ended up touring Asia with that old Dame bass.
