The ATK neck pocket is set too deep for the scale to work out right. That is considering You'll be using the ibanez bridge on the ATK with a stock fender jazz or p bass neck. From what I recall there were some necks available from Carvin that would work, or possibly a neck from one of the OLP "Ray copies". |

But the short neck is a big turnoff, though i might be able to remedy it. thanks anyways guys |

Its wider, longer and has more territory behind the bridge. The headstock is not quite as long, but as its already been said, the scale length (inside edge of nut to saddles) is the most relevant factor when considering playability. The ATK body will require some modification to make a Fender neck fit, but if you do that, you'll be losing the Ibanez neck - not what I would recommend by any stretch.
If you really want to do this, the best way would be to shim the sides of the existing neck pocket, block the bottom to bring it to the right depth, and then relocate the bridge back further on the body to accommodate the Fender neck placement (Fender necks are shorter with less frets). To make it look pro, you'd be looking at a refinish, plus the luthiery work, and you'd be into used EBMM prices at that point. Plus, the whole process would require rerouting and moving the ATK pickup back further on the body, assuming you wanted to keep the same relative position on the scale length.
Long story short, if you already have the body and the neck and you have the skills to do it yourself, go for it. If you're paying someone to do it on your behalf, just buy a used EBMM, it will be much easier and will get you "closer" to the EBMM sound for less money... |

I don't know why you would want to change it. It does not seem to be flawed in any way. It took me a little getting used to the small neck coming from my BTB which has a huge neck. But I must say I'm really enjoying it now that I'm getting to know it. Enjoy it for what it is, or... get a Fender.
