he's in your city so i'd check it out. even if its a half-playable squire, its worth it for that price.

Definitely worth a look. I got a nice green Squier P Special last year for $100. Probably my best ever budget guitar or bass purchase. Great backup, and the bass player for my son's band uses it.

Well geez it's no YAMAHA haha, but $80 looks like plenty of bass if it plays alright.

You're lucky I'm not in Bixby. That bass would be gone.

Seller might accept a slightly lower offer, say $70.00, making it a steal.

Might be stolen. That's sort of crazy low price. Why not a round figure?
It could also be just fine too....it's just that anyone would normally ask $100-150 even for a used dinged Squire; especially someone who just "bought another" would want to get some $ back. But the guy could also be rich or some other explanation.

Well, my suspicion centers around the math - hmmm...the ad says it a "1999" model and also that it's "13 years old". What am I missing? Kinda tough - not really getting it.....somebody help on this one?

He's off by a year. You would be surprised at how many folks make simple mistakes with basic math. IMO, that's not a big deal.

For $80, if the guitar is whole and complete - even if it doesn't play that well - it's worthwhile.

It will say "Affinity" on the headstock, in small letters. Something like this...

Yes, IMO. Especially if it's a MIJ.

EDIT: The back of the headstock will have the SN as well as the country of manufacture. The two should match up, unless it's a fake. But I have no idea why someone would want to fake an Affinity.

I had a Squier Affinity in that color years back. Not the best IMO, now days you could get a better built Squier with the money you'd put into modding the Affinity.

One of my pet peaves I absolutely can not stand is when the CL or eBay title says "Fender" when their trying to sell a Squier. It's misleading enough to feel like I've wasted my time clicking on it.

Agreed. Just pointing out sarcastically that I thought the math was funny.
