Fender P bass?

I'm thinking about swapping my Warwick Corvette for this bass. The guy reckons its a late 50's or 60's Fender but It had a broken neck which he replaced so there's no logo on the headstock. I wondered if there was anything you could see on this picture that would suggest otherwise? I know it's very difficult to tell from this picture.

Looks like a '70s Japanese copy of a Fender.

Lets see, necks not original, pups not original. So your wanting to trade for what might be the body of a late 50's or 60's fender? Even if it was all original and in great shape, Id still concider the warwick corvette a better bass. But I'm weird like that. Lol.

He never claims it's a Fender in the ad. I'm not a big fan of Warwicks, but it looks like bogus trade to me.

The black in that sunburst finish is hiding the edge of a plywood body made in the Eastern Hemisphere.
The knobs might be made by Fender, but nothing else on that bass was.

Especially the way the burst is done. A lot of early Japanese were done with sunburst like that.
