Fender P Bass Neck Profile Question

If some one can help I would appreciate it, though I don't know...

Years ago (about 1981) I was in a guitar shop and saw a Fender P bass. Brand new 1980 with a maple fretboard. Here is the question, it has what seemed like a really wide spacing I am guessing it was 1 5/8, but the depth of the nech seemed shallower than a normal p bass, and the fretboard almost seemed flat. What kind of neck profile would that be considered? Is it still offered today? Or was it just a regular P bass neck and I just remember it this way? This is from back in the days where I had no clue on basses etc... I was only playing for a year or so at the time.

Thanks all

the early american standard p basses from 83 or so had 1.75 wide and shallow necks. could it have been around then?

I bet you are right. I wonder if these dimensions are available today in a Fender style neck. I supposed I would have to get Warmouth to custom build something like that.

the road worn p or a 62 reissue would probably do it for you. they both have 1.75 necks.

The Classic (MIM) 50's P-Bass also has a 1.75" neck.
