Fender P, J, or P/J Bass Based on my favourite bassists

Hi I'm thinking about getting a new bass, but I'm wondering what type I should get Fender P, J, or P/J. I'm going to go to the store this weekend, but I wanted to hear some of your guy's input on which bass I should choose based on some of my favorite bassists that I'd like to sound like first. I also like to play with my fingers if that makes a difference.

I really like:

The Red Hot Chili Peppers (Flea)
Queen (John Deacon)
The Darkness (Frankie Pouillain)
The Strokes (Nikolai Fraiture)

Just get a P/J and have the best of both.

I say whatever. It's all good. A J and PJ give you more versatility of tones, but a P is a beautiful thing to behold and can work for pretty much everything.

None of the above... You've got a P player, a J player, a MM player, and a T bird player. I would go for something with double humbuckers... where you can switch between parallel and series and switch pups.
