Fender Road Worn P-bass

I've been shopping for a P-bass have played a hand full of different ones, I'm thinking my final choice will be the road worn series p-bass by Fender. I really enjoy the sound and the weight of the bass, however, I did have some concerns about it when I tried it out. When I playing the bass I was running my hand around the neck to see how I felt with it and noticed the frets were fairly sharp on the edges, is this something that will wear down in time or could I have it fixed? (I've never purchased a brand new bass, always got them used. I also noticed none of the other basses seem to feel this way).

My next concern was the finish. I enjoy the sunburst. I am not a fan of the red. I recently noticed that fender released more road worn guitars in different models and colors. Does anybody know if they are releasing any new road worn basses in the near future? I'd hate to buy this bass now and in a few months they release something I'd much rather want.

If you're an owner or have heard any news or interesting things about these p-basses to heighten my interest please let me know. Thanks!
