let me introduce you to my family:
Road Worn P, 57P (in the back) , Pino Palladino, ( Pino back-up=50tsP with 62 RI neck and PG) 59 CS P-bass

Yes it is or otherwise I might do it my self tomorrownight.

I'm giging the bass tomorownight on my SVT rig so that will be the ultimate test!
Markbass is OK but AMPEG (USA) still rules !!!!

Pretty cool, although I hate the colour of the pickguard. Blech.

But the bass itself is cool.

Other than the cliché burn mark, do the necks have any relic'ing to them? The headstock looks fairly untouched.

It has some blems an spots on the neck.

Looks nice

I like the indentation from the bridge cover on the body.

A quick question. Does the neck have a nice "rolled edge" broken in feel like an old bass has, or does it feel new?

I really like it - the only thing that bothers me a bit is the shiny/finished "wear" marks - and the pricetage for a mex bass. Looks very cool tho! I'm really into the whole relicing thing

As far as I heard it acoustic-wise it has lots of sustain and the neck is ab-fab.
It feels very similar to my Pino Palladino but a bit thinner due the one piece maple thing.

As I mentioned earlier it is a very light bass.
Lighter then the 50s P (look at the bass on top)
I swopped the neck with a 62RI soit has a rosewood neck.

I think it looks great. I love that matte 2-tone SB.

Any wear on the neck or fretboard? It looks relatively clean compared to the Roadworn guitars I've seen in person.

Nice. I like how it's not all shiny to show smudges and fingerprints, how does it compare to the Custom Shop as far as playability and sound?

The bridge cover indentation looks a little strange to me but the rest of it is gorgeous!

Finally got the chance to get this bass tested at the rehearsal
last night.

Amps used:

Ampeg SVT CL USA
Ampeg 810 CL USA

Ampeg SVT SVP pro USA
Renkus Heinz USA Power Amp 1200Watt
Ampeg 410 HLF Vietnam

Markbass F1
Markbass NYC 604

Neck:
Very fast maple neck sounds even better then my 59 CS.
Maybe its the new strings.....
Very nice relic job with 100% nitro and feau cigarette burn on the headstock (just like the Blackie Strat)
Back of the neck is a copy of my Pino: nitro is gone over the entire length of the neck starting 1" from the headstock to 2"
from the neckpocket.
Frets are 100% thin vintage.

Body:
Extremely lightweight alder body with the best sustain I ever heard on a P-Bass.

Hardware:
100% Customshop USA, they don't make these kind of bridges,tuners and knobs in Mexico.....
All the hardware is the same as my 59CS and Pino!!!!!

Sound:

Tone, Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone, Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone,Tone, and tone.......

Super resonant body and neck are absolutely fabulous...

Conclusion:

Buy this bass ASAP before they are sold out or the $ gets to low the Europeans buy all the stock in the US and they will, believe me..........

Absolutely the best bass money can buy if you can spare 1K.
It's not a poor relic job or a silly rip-off by Fender Mexico.
Try out one and you'll be convinced this is the bass of the year 2009.

Your family pics prove to me that the 57p reissue has the most luscious tinted maple neck that fender makes. MMmm...love that yellow nitro'd maple.

Wow...that is a screaming endorsement of these basses and I may just have to go and try one. I'm in the market for a P and I'm gonna give this one a go.

You almost sound like it like it more than your others, which are awesome.
