Fender "S" switch...what years?

Just a quick question. I was wondering what years did Fender have the "S" switch? I'm looking at some used basses but I prefer one without the switch. Thanks.

I don't know what the years are, but I will tell you that there is nothing wrong with my Jazz that has the S-1 switch, though I can also say there is nothing right with it. If you find a good deal on a bass that has it, don't forget that you can remove it. I plan on replacing mine with a J Retro setup, or you can even re-wire it out.

Don't be too quick to dismiss the S-1 switch. On a Jazz bass, it adds a nice boost. Kind of useless on a P, but you don't have to push it in, you know.
I think they were available from 2005 - 2007 or thereabouts.

I have an '07 Jazz Bass with the S-1 switch. I believe that was the last year for it. I rarely use the switch, and could take it out and not miss it. It's a great J-Bass, that's why I got it.

Best Rregards,

The Fender American Series P Bass featured the S-1 switch from 7/2003 to 12/2007.
