Got to use some new toys in combination with each other for the first time last night. It just blew me away! I am one who is never satisfied with my sound, but this combo was the cat's meow! It just sound awesome! I was really enjoying myself last night...

So what we have here is:
Carvin B2000 Amplifier (only the second gig with it)
(2) Avatar B210 Neo Cabinets (not new....have them for years)
Sadowsky DI/Preamp Box (about a month old)
'72 Fender Jazz (also about a month old)

And a couple of shots getting into the moment!

Very cool. Do you like the 2 2x10s better than a single 4x10?

That is a sick rig, and you look like you are having fun. Does not get better than that!

Having the 2 2x10s give me a little more versatility. There have been times were I only needed the one cabinet. Also the 2 cabinets are a bit easier for me to load in and out of my car.

Either I think I know what you mean aboutyou having had the '72 Fender a month, or else someone did a heck of a relicing job on it!

That's what I'm thinking as well.

It already had 39 years of heavy playing on it when I bought it (from a fellow TB'r) around a month ago or so.

I not a big fan of reliced new instruments like the Road Worn stuff (although they do play nice).

I've been holding out for years for the "real deal"! When I came across this one, I had to bag it! Glad I did too!

I like it allot. I am so used the Sadowsky sound since all I have been playing mostly for the past number of years is Sadowsky basses.

The nice thing I found is the Sadowsky preamp box does not take away the classic jazz sound, but more adds a little extra umph to the sound and a bit hotter output. I run the treble flat and boost the bass just a bit. Then I use the tone control on the bass like I would the VTC (Vintage Tone Control) control on my Sadowsky bass. I'm still in learning curve mode with the '72 and the preamp box, but I like what I have heard so far.

Than running it all through that Carvin B2000 is the icing on the cake!

Cool,

I'm at a crossroads b/w getting a Sadowsky RV4 or a Fender CS 64. Someone suggested that if I wanted the Fender, get it and I put it through the Sadowsky DI and it would sound killer, which is probably the route that I'll go. From what I've heard and read, it would thicken the tone up pretty good, but still have a nice passive single coil tone.

A very cool combination of stuff to make what appears to be a great rig. Hope they give you years of playing and listening plearsure.

If I were in your place I'd just go with the Sadowsky!

I think either way you go would be equally good. Now I love my two Sadowsky basses, but also there is nothing like a well playing vintage Fender. Trust me, it is a hard decision as to which bass to take to the gig!
