Fender in St. Louis?

Except for Halpin Music in Alton, IL, I can't think of any music stores in the area that I have not visited. Does any store in the area stock the new MIA Deluxe Fenders?

I believe I saw one at the Fairview Heights GC last time I was there.

They had an older one for a long time, but no more. I don't think GC stocks high end Fenders anymore.

False.
True - we've been having a hard time w/ Fender keeping up with our inventory requests. American Deluxe models included.

I hope some of the STL area GCs get the new Deluxes. I have been wanting to try one for a year.

I am from Columbia but I grew up in Rolla and last time I was home for a visit they had one at Merles Music. I know it's not exactly local but I don't know how serious you are about getting one. They are like hens teeth around here. Local store has one on order for a guy and it's at least 60 days out. The one at Merles was a natural Jazz V. Played real nice! Hope that helps.

speaking as a bassist, not a GC employee on this one...you're best off ordering it and trying it out for 30 days using the return policy. If the store hasn't had one in a year, most likely not getting one anytime soon. Bigger stores get the best inventory first, us smaller stores get the trickle down, unless we sell the crap out of awesome items that we DON'T normally have in store via special orders, transfers, etc etc, then and only then if we make a big enough impact, we can ASK to carry that item.

sometimes the system works, sometimes it doesn't IMO. You're better off just ordering it...which is kind of a pain in the butt.

Heck, if I was really in the market for a high-end bass like that, I'd jump in the car with a couple other music buddies and drive up to Chicago for a fun day of music-store hopping. Surely there's some good shops there that would have high-end Fender stock.

Yeah, either Chicago or Nashville, both are about the same distance. My issue is that STL is big enough to have a better selection, IMO. I know there used to be a much better selection of basses here until the early 2000's.

I thought the same about Louisville, and Cincinnati. I was wrong.

Last time I was at Fazios they had some nice Fender Deluxes. It's been a few months since I was in there.

You might check David's Guitar Loft too. There's one in Webster and a brand new one in Fenton.

I have a couple of the new MIA Deluxes. My band practices not too far from Fazios. If you want to stop by some time and try them out you are welcome to do so (and sit in for a couple of songs!). Send me a PM if you're interested and I can give you the details.

Bob

When looking about, one can see all kinds of stuff that's 'interesting'. If it's something you are going to consider buying, that's another thing entirely.

To get exactly, or near what you want, you'll more than likely have to order it.

It can be fun 'cause, it'll come right to you & not get pawed up someplace first.

I also really want to try the newest incarnation of the ADJV. If you run up on one, let me know.

I've been in both St. Louis area GCs on the MO side, and they don't have a lot of Fender. In fact the Bridgeton store on had one U.S. Fender at all. Although, they have a whole wall of EBMM. The same ones that have been in there forever.

On the other hand, maybe it is a good thing I haven't found one. I might buy it.

Not having one in the area is probably saving my butt too!
