Fender Standard Jazz Bass V 5 string

I have been considering "upgrading" to the Fender Standard jazz bass V 5 string from my Steinberger XT-25 5 string. I havent played one, but i did play the Blacktop jazz bass (which i thought was unreal) but i want a 5 string. Would this be a decent choice?

My friend's Fender Jazz V is the best bass I have ever played, but I still wouldn't buy one without trying it out first.
