Any idea why this is the coolest bass I've ever owned?

I'll bite -- Why?

Maple fingerboard? Great color?

the chunky neck?

Because it's a Precision?

Mirror pg and the finish?

Because it's the bass that proves that the best bass for metal is a P with flats, thus neatly tying together several TB obessions in one neat bundle?

Because its the best bass for metal

It's the best bass for The Number of the Beast.

It's coolest because Steve Harris played it clearly, precisely, & in perfect time and making it sound so good.

Because it's the bee's knees?

Because it's the only bass you've ever owned.

Well boys, I've got lots of basses, many that are much more expensive. And while I think my Ric is very, very cool and I love the sound of it, there is something about the Steve Harris Signature that makes me very happy when I play it. I thought at first it was the flats and the chunky neck that make me happy (I have huge hands and I put flats on most of my basses anyway) but it's more than that. Maybe I just got a really good one.

But I swear, this thing plays itself!!

Because it has the coffee freshly made when you get up for work in the morning?

no, but I do think that blue sparkly coffee in a mirrored coffee cup would be cool.......

I'm more of a Motown boy - no head banging here.

Well, except for the color and mirror pickguard, everything about the bass is oldschool. You're basically playing a 57' P with a sbp-1 (which is the vintage voiced one in the line) and a badass II on it.

But the color is pimpin'!! And as we all know, the bass players are most assuredly the pimps in the band! We are the gate keepers to all things funky.
