I apologize if this has been covered, I did a search and found nothing. I have not seen this before and wondered if anybody has. Any first hand experience? I think it looks pretty dang cool.

We have a couple of the guitars in the store where I work and I wasn't impressed. I can't speak for the basses though.

Fender simply doesn't get acoustic.

I've seen more atrocious acoustic models from them than any other major manufacturer, and it's been that way for a long time. They tend to run to visually interesting novelty instruments that just don't cut it as players, often due to some terribly brainless design gaffes.

A Fender plywood ABG just seems like a fancy name for kindling.

Yeah, I would second that. I have a BG-31 and it's only decent..

A friend of mine (and Fender endorsee) got one of the Fender Kingman acoustic basses, and that seemed reasonably decent. The gimmick with those being that they have a traditional J bass slapped onto an acoustic body. If I remember correctly, the neck felt a little bit strange on such a big body, but at least the neck itself felt familiar, and therefore playable.

Was wondering about this abg myself. Saw it, just couldn't pull the trigger. Holding out for a Breedlove.
