Just ordered one of these online, never played one before because my local music stores are terrible and don't stock nice basses.

Seriously, any good? Any fans?

You'll find plenty of information if you use the search engine.

Bought the 5 string version a month ago. If you are into the bound neck jazz bass I don't think you will be disappointed.

Not a bad instrument at all. The active / passive switch is a big plus. I like the SCN's over the N3's, but that's just personal preference. They look and feel great, but as John says, I like a neck without binding more.

I really liked the sound of this bass and the active / passive was a plus. This is a redesigned body, however, and I found it quite heavy. I asked the guy at Sam Ash to weigh it for me and it tipped the scale at 10.5 pounds making it quite heavy for me personally. I'm sure the weigh varies. The one I tried was an alder sunburst. Nice sound though, I was not disappointed in the sound and the new preamp, pickups and neck sounded great. Its a compound radius which I think means it flattens out as it goes towards the higher frets.
