appears to be a S75*****

Fender Serial Numbers and Dates

if thats the case it a 1977/78.

Loks like 5 fuzzy pics of a 77 Pbass - not a vintage I would expect to be faked... The only thing that looks odd from what I can make out in the pics is maybe a repositioned strap button. What is your concern?

Serial says '77. Some fenders have the strap button there. My '60 P bass has the strap button in the same place. Looks like the real deal. The pickup and pots dates would help. Decal and machine heads are correct for '77.

The strap button, or "hootnanny" button is only present on 60-68 Fenders IIRC

He's only talking about the regular strap button on the horn being positioned slightly differently.

Looks legit to me, nice bass.

I had a '78 JUST like this one but I put a '69 P-bass pup in it and it really thumped. Very light body tho and was neck heavy. BTW, the front strap button was in the same location as yours. I have a pic of it but it's not scanned.

the top horn strap buttons were often mounted like that. here's a pic of a 100% original '78:
