Fender Victor Bailey (Wise to buy untested?)

After considering various jazz basses, I thought I had narrowed down my decision to a MIA Deluxe. But I remembered that I've always wanted to try out the Victor Bailey jazz bass. Problem is, I've never seen one in a store, so I've never been able to try one out.

The thing is, I love Victor Bailey's tone. And I'm really comfortable with the feel of Fender jazz basses. Obviously, it wouldn't be wise for me to ask for advice on whether or not to take a plunge on a bass I've never tried out.

So my question is, how does the feel of the VB jazz compare to a "regular" Fender jazz. "Feel" is hard to define, and it can mean different things to different people. But when I pick up a Fender, whether it's a P or a J, I can still feel this distinct "feel" in terms of neck and string tension (even though the neck width of P's and J's differ). A Musicman, for example, regardless of the neck width just feels different to a Fender.

I'm kind of thinking out loud here, but for those who can relate to what I mean by "that distinct Fender bass feel", does the VB jazz feel like a real Fender?

Thanks in advance.
