Finally found a Squier Bronco to play with my other Shorties

Good things apparently do come to those who wait, because I could not have found a nicer Squier Bronco to own/mod. I have been searching for a Bronco to fill in my Short Scale collection and after two months of scouring the local classifieds and posting 'wanted' ad, I finally found one.
This morning I picked up this baby below. The fact it already has a GFS Rail pickup in it is a very nice bonus. First thing is to get some Chromes on it and then figure out what to do to it cosmetically. Although I have to admit it looks pretty darn nice as is.
So far the Bronco seems very happy with it's new friends.

Spreay paint the PG Yellow so we can have twin basses! I love my bronco too, same pickup. It plays great.

do you ever pick too hard and get a terrible sound when the strings hit the rails? I love the sound when the pickup is close to the strings but I really have to play with a light touch or I get that nasty clip sound.

Nice! I've been looking for just the right pickup to put in my Bronco. You two both have split coil pickups. GFS has three different types available do you know which ones you have (6K, 10k, 15k) and if you were to do it all over (and wanted to increase the bottom end) would you use the same pickups?

I use the middle one, 10k. To be honest I don't know how much the pick up increased the bottom end. I'd say it mostly increased clarity and reduced noise. I play through an Eden WTDI pre amp so that lets me EQ any bottom in I need.

Get black nail polish from your goth girlfriend and apply few coats on the rails

Honestly not sure which GFS pickup is in the bass, as it came that way. I've been experimenting with stripes today. Also have a white pearloid pickguard on the way.

Like the yellow pickguard a LOT. Once I get the pearloid guard on I may experiment with painting the stock pickguard.
