Well, it's been quite a week this week.....

I'm now the proud owner of this fine instrument:
FS: Sadowsky NYC Vintage 5

I also picked up a 2006 Sadowsky NYC Vintage 5 with a Maple Neck and Ash body....colour is '59 Burst.
Check it out here: http://sdrv.ms/UTstsf

I'm thinking of trading it for another Sadowsky. I'm going to post an ad in the classifieds. Sounds and plays amazing!

I was even going to purchase a 3rd Sadowsky. Had to borrow some money to do all of this. Then make my decision. But, I only ended up two.

As for a pre-CBS Fender. Well, I tried that 1966 at the Twelfth Fret in Toronto again....and it really didn't to it for me. The $4899.99 price tag really didn't do it for me either!

Anyway, just another update to my post....Sadowsky rules!
Haha...

Or even better, a vintage Fender AND a vintage Sadowsky! That would be my '72 Jazz and my '88 Sadowsky!

I think you would enjoy a 55-94. Try to find a pre 2000 one if you can they are sweet! My favorite are the pre 2000 with an ash body and rosewood neck.

That's about the only other bass on my list to try to play....Lakland NYC.....would much prefer a Wal though!

No argument here. All I own is Sadowsky J's and old Fender P's. Everything else I've tried doesn't measure up. Just don't ask me to choose only one. That might get messy......

I once had the opportunity to try my NYC UV Jazz (Alder / Brazilian Rosewood) head to head with a friend's '62 Fender Jazz. My conclusion was that the Sadowsky could do everything the Fender could, and more, with better playability. (Not that the '62 Jazz was a slouch....)

I haven't had the opportunity to try a UV Precision against my '66 P. Maybe someday....

Yeah, I think with owning Sadowsky J's and Fender (Vintage) P's would cover all the tones you would ever really need for versatility. And I just happened to get ahold of a second Sadowsky J, so I'm thinking of swapping it for a Sadowsky P.....maybe I'll be able to let you know how that works out.
Even if it is a PJ....that might be even more versatile.
