Gotcha. Thank you for the clarification. Whether it's an AJ Presentation or just a "lookalike", with the same shape, it's a beautiful design. Just had to share this Presentation from the newborn gallery with those have might not have seen it.

Agreed, Vinny did a great job with the body shape. I debated for about six months before I placed my order to have a presentation model built or a two pickup instrument. I'm sure Anthony's bass is an incredible instrument I just felt like it wouldn't work for me. I wanted a bridge pickup. It may sound odd but that was the deal breaker..lol

My guess is that this is a true presentation and not a lookalike. The carved top is outstanding.

He just recently got one of the very last NYC's that we made. He was in the shop hanging out day and played one that we had just put together and absolutely fell in love with it. He has done a LOT of recording on his various Foderas. Out in the public eye, however, it's pretty much Fender all the way...

They are coming along really, really well. We will be shipping the first ones late this week or early next week. From now until the end of September we will be getting roughly 10 per month completed.

When we announced them back in October of last year we said that we would start shipping "on, or around April 1, 2012," and here we are ready to do just that...

Jin, thanks for the kind words!!!

Regards,

J

I'm not surprised those two are your current go-for's. Regardless of how long, at least your assured playing time will be of the highest quality. Just be careful the other's don't get jealous and rebel..

Ahh yes..The Zebrawood top Monarch (too many great basses, I can't keep track). Is there a great difference between '80's and the latter day active EMG's? I've got to try a bass with those active EMG's..

Easy...

I remember seeing the first zebrawood with zebrawood fretboard way back when. IIRC that one was dovetail. always one of my favorite combos. remember playing it but can't remember how it sounded however. the second generation HAZ preamp is very bright with the emgs' which probably works well with the softer warmer fretboard. need to look away now....

Yes, we are no longer offering them in favor of the new Standards...now everything that we build is made here in our Brooklyn shop...

I'd love to hear a good clip of Marcus on an NYC... I've seen a vid or two from NAMM but you can't hear anything. I wonder how the Fodera pre compares with his Fender sound.

Zebrawood as a fretboard material is completely new to me, so Jason's bass is the first I've seen, and with the matching top it looks great...

Walnut burl. You can read about it here:

The bass is not mine, I'm just an admirer.

The Monarch 4? Are you kidding? When we were finishing this bass I literally gave my credit card to my wife and said "do not give it back to me until this bass sells." No joke!
